DAY NURSREIES throughgout Hertfordshire - permanent and temporary roles

NURSERY COOK

We are currently looking for a Cook for a local Day Nursery in Chorleywood.

You will have 2 years minimum proven experience in catering, a basic food hygiene certificate, the ability to work as a team and working under pressure and in an organised way.

Ideally you would have experience within a childcare environment.

You will maintain a high standard of cleanliness in the kitchen and be responsible for the preparation of food for all children taking into account any special dietary requirements in line with agreed menus and cleaning of the kitchen equipment.
You will maintain monthly records for stocktaking and ensure adequate storage conditions.

This is a permanent position with a very competitive salary and offers part time hours of 25 per week. (Mon-Fri 8.30-1.30)

YOU MUST HAVE/BE THE FOLLOWING
• Level 2/3 Early Years and Childcare Qualification
• Post-qualifying experience in a day care setting
• Detailed knowledge & experience of Early Years Framework
• Knowledge of the Children’s Act and Child Protection Act
• Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage
• Able to communicate effectively at all levels
• Previous experience of managing a team/individuals
• To be able to demonstrate the ability to work as part of a team

ROLE INFORMATION:
• To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for children in the nursery
• To give support to other team members in the nursery
• To implement the daily routine in the base room
• To work under the direction of the Nursery Manager and follow the guidelines laid down by Ofsted

We are currently looking for Nursery Staff to work within various day nurseries on an adhoc basis throughout Welwyn Garden City, St Albans, Letchworth, Hatfield. You will ideally have experience in working within this sector. A CRB less than a year old is required for this role although one can be applied for on registration. IMMEDIATE STARTS AVAILABLE
